APC Dismisses Money laundering allegations against Osun State Governor

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has dismissed allegations of $20 million fraud against former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, calling them “politically motivated” .The allegations were made by current Governor Ademola Adeleke, who accused Oyetola of money laundering and violating the Public Procurement Act.

According to the Osun APC Media Director, Kola Olabisi, the allegations are an attempt by Adeleke to “settle political scores” due to his failure to control the state’s local government councils. Olabisi challenged the Adeleke administration to publish the names of contractors and contract award dates to substantiate their claims.

The Osun State Government, however, maintains that the petition submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was based on a thorough investigation and was not politically motivated. The government claims that the investigation uncovered widespread corruption, due process violations, and financial mismanagement under Oyetola’s administration.
