President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to personally headline campaign rallies in 12 states as the All Progressives Congress (APC) kicks off its nationwide push for the 2027 general elections. The party’s official campaign timetable, released on Thursday, outlines a months-long itinerary covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with the President leading the charge in selected battleground locations.
According to the schedule, the presidential campaign will be formally flagged off in Kaduna on October 24, 2026, with President Tinubu in attendance. The tour will continue in November with appearances in Rivers State on November 7, Plateau on November 14, Oyo on November 21, Borno on November 25, Enugu on November 28, and Bauchi on November 29. This phase covers all six geopolitical zones, targeting states with significant voter populations and strategic political importance.
The campaign will extend into December and January, with the President scheduled to appear in Sokoto on December 5, Delta on December 12, and Kano on December 17. His final outings before the grand finale will be in Adamawa on January 4, the home state of his main challenger Atiku Abubakar, and Lagos on January 9 for the closing mega rally. The President had earlier hinted during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council that he would not attend every state rally in order to focus on governance.
For the remaining states, the timetable indicates that top party leaders, governors, and members of the Presidential Campaign Council will represent the President. Rallies have been fixed for November and December across states including Cross River, Gombe, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Jigawa, Ondo, Edo, Yobe, Kebbi, Akwa Ibom, Anambra and Benue, ensuring the party maintains nationwide visibility throughout the campaign period.
The selection of the 12 states for the President’s personal presence is seen as strategic. Three of them, Oyo, Bauchi and Adamawa, are linked to major opposition figures contesting the 2027 presidential race. Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde is flying the flag of the Allied Peoples Movement, while Adamawa remains the political base of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
