Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP). El-Rufai announced his decision in a statement, citing his disappointment with the current leadership style of the APC, which he believes has strayed from the party’s founding principles.
As a founding member of the APC, El-Rufai expressed his sadness in seeing the party deviate from its original vision. He highlighted his contributions to the APC, including his role in the party’s formation in 2013 and his efforts to implement progressive policies during his tenure as governor.
El-Rufai also revealed his plans to engage with other opposition leaders and parties to create a unified democratic platform to challenge the APC in upcoming elections. He urged his supporters and other Nigerians committed to the country’s future to join him in the SDP, with the goal of making Nigeria a beacon of pride for Africans and the Black Race.
