A sand-laden truck lost control and collided with the main entrance gate of the Gombe State Government House on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, at approximately 12:55 p.m.
The gate, part of an ongoing renovation project yet to be commissioned, sustained substantial structural damage to its multi-million-naira components.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was moving at considerable speed before veering off course and impacting the gate directly.
Fortunately, the incident resulted in no loss of life. The driver of the truck, reportedly from Tricata Nigeria Ltd., sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving medical attention. No pedestrians were in the immediate vicinity at the time of the collision, which helped limit potential harm to bystanders.
The Gombe State Government House remains central to the administration’s infrastructure development efforts under Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.
Officials, including the Director-General of the Government House, have acknowledged the event and confirmed that appropriate measures are being implemented to address the damage and support the affected driver.
