Messi Reaches 400 Career Assists: A Milestone in Inter Miami’s Playoff Victory

Lionel Messi has officially joined the elite group of players with 400 career assists, a milestone reached during Inter Miami’s 4‑0 victory over Nashville SC in the MLS Cup playoffs at Chase Stadium.

The Argentine star not only contributed a brace in the first half but also provided the passes that led to both of Tadeo Allende’s goals, pushing his assist total to the historic figure of 400.

The achievement highlights Messi’s enduring influence at 38 years old. Across the regular season he added 29 goals and 19 assists, and in the playoffs he has already recorded five goals and two assists in three matches.

With this latest tally, he stands alone among active players at the 400‑assist mark and is poised to close the gap on Ferenc Puskás’ all‑time record as Inter Miami prepares for the Eastern Conference semifinals against FC Cincinnati.
