Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi is cracking down on mismanagement in the state’s Ramadan feeding programme. During an unscheduled visit to several feeding centers in Dutse Local Government Area, he discovered some disturbing lapses. Despite allocating ₦4.8 billion for the program, some centers were found to be mismanaging resources and neglecting proper hygiene.
Governor Namadi expressed his disappointment, stating that he’s “disappointed, but not surprised” by the level of mismanagement. He emphasized the need for transparency, fairness, and proper hygiene, directing officials to take immediate corrective measures.
The Ramadan feeding programme aims to provide food for vulnerable residents across 287 wards in all 27 local government areas. However, the mismanagement issues have raised concerns about the effective use of funds.
To address these issues, Governor Namadi has called on local authorities and community leaders to monitor the program closely and ensure its proper execution. He stressed that the welfare of the people remains a top priority for his administration.
