Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arraigned at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The charges stem from an alleged assault on government officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, who were conducting an enforcement exercise at his bar in Sango Ota on February 5, 2025.
Portable allegedly led an attack on the officials, causing them injuries. Nine of his associates were arrested and arraigned on multiple charges, including felony, armed violence, obstruction, assault, and attempted murder. Portable himself surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
The Ogun State Government has denounced Portable’s conduct, calling him a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal.” They emphasized their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that such behavior is dealt with accordingly.
