A disturbing incident involving corrupt police officers in Ogun State has come to light. The officers, who were tasked with investigating the disappearance of a 7-year-old girl, allegedly demanded ₦40,000 from the girl’s mother to facilitate the investigation.
The mother, a Point-of-Sale (PoS) operator, had reported the girl’s disappearance after a regular customer allegedly abducted her.Fortunately, the Nigeria Police Force has taken swift action against the corrupt officers. According to Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the officers have been arrested and are currently in detention for disciplinary action.
Adejobi condemned the officers’ actions, stating that such behavior is “inhuman, apathetic, and unprofessional.” The Ogun State Police Command is working to locate the missing girl, and Adejobi has urged the family to cooperate fully with the investigation.
