Lagos Federal High Court Discharges Socialite Pretty Mike and Club Supervisor from Drug Charges

A Federal High Court in Lagos has discharged socialite and nightclub owner Mike Nwalie, popularly known as Pretty Mike, along with his club supervisor, Joachim Hillary, from all drug-related charges brought by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The ruling, delivered on Wednesday by Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa, followed the successful submission by the defence that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against the defendants.

The court determined that the evidence presented by the NDLEA was insufficient to require the accused persons to enter a defence.

Consequently, the no-case submission was upheld, leading to the immediate discharge of both individuals without the need for them to present their own testimony.

This decision effectively concludes the proceedings at this stage.

The case stemmed from an earlier raid at the Proxy Lagos nightclub, where allegations of unlawful possession and permitting the use of premises for drug-related activities were made.

With the charges now dismissed, Nwalie and his supervisor have been fully cleared of the accusations.
