Nigerian winger Suleman Sani has completed a sudden move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, leaving German club RB Leipzig just months after his arrival. The transfer caught many by surprise, given that the young attacker only linked up with the Bundesliga outfit in January.
Sani’s stint in Germany turned out to be brief. Despite high expectations when he signed, he struggled to nail down a regular starting spot in Leipzig’s crowded attack. With limited minutes and increased competition for places, both the player and the club opted for an early parting of ways.
Al-Qadsiah moved quickly to secure his services and have now announced him as part of their growing foreign contingent. The Saudi club is in the middle of an aggressive recruitment drive and views the Nigerian as a long-term addition who can add pace and directness to their wide areas.
For Sani, the switch offers a fresh start and the chance for consistent playing time. The 22-year-old is expected to feature prominently as Al-Qadsiah aim to establish themselves further in the Saudi top flight. The move also continues the recent trend of young talents heading to the Middle East in search of bigger roles.
Leipzig have not disclosed the financial details of the deal. However, the transfer closes a short chapter for Sani in the Bundesliga and opens a new one in Saudi Arabia, where he will look to rediscover form and stake a claim for regular Super Eagles call-ups.
