Lagos Federal High Court Approves Publication of Winding-Up Petition Against Frutta Juice Over $53,026 Debt

A Federal High Court in Lagos has permitted Saudi Modern Packaging Factory Co. Ltd. to proceed with publicizing a winding-up petition it filed against Frutta Juice & Services Limited.

The order was issued on July 24, 2026, by Justice Musa Kakaki. The Saudi firm approached the court seeking leave to advertise the petition in connection with an alleged outstanding debt of $53,026.

The dispute centers on claims that Frutta Juice failed to settle the amount owed to Saudi Modern Packaging. By granting the application, the court has allowed the petitioner to formally notify the public and creditors of its action to wind up the Nigerian company.

A winding-up petition is a legal process through which a creditor asks the court to liquidate a company over unpaid debts. Publishing the petition serves as official notice to other stakeholders and interested parties.

The matter will now proceed through the court system, with further hearings expected to determine the next steps. Representatives of both companies have not made additional public comments on the case.
