Navy Hands 19 Bags of Seized Cannabis to NDLEA in Anambra

The Nigerian Navy’s Onitsha Command has transferred 19 bags of suspected cannabis to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Anambra State.

The consignment was recovered during intelligence-driven operations carried out by naval personnel in the area. Officials said the operation targeted suspected trafficking routes along the waterways and adjoining communities.

Speaking during the handover, the command noted that the seizure aligns with its mandate to support other security agencies in combating illicit activities. The Navy added that it remains committed to disrupting the movement of prohibited substances.

NDLEA officers who received the exhibits said they would conduct further investigation and profiling to determine the source and destination of the drugs. The agency assured that those linked to the trafficking would be brought to justice.

Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to interagency collaboration. They urged residents to provide useful information that could help curb drug trafficking and other criminal activities in the state.
