President Tinubu Seeks US Court Order to Block Release of FBI, DEA and DOJ Records

President Bola Tinubu has approached a United States court with a motion to stop federal agencies from making public certain documents.

The filing targets the US Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The records in question relate to old allegations of drug trafficking that have previously circulated in public discourse.

According to court filings, the President’s legal team argues that releasing the materials could be prejudicial and lacks public interest justification at this time. They are seeking a judicial order to prevent disclosure pending further review.

The US agencies have not issued a detailed public response to the motion. Legal observers note that such cases often hinge on privacy laws, ongoing investigation protocols, and freedom of information rules.

The matter is now before the court for consideration. No date has been announced for a hearing, and it remains unclear how long the review process will take.
