The Ogun State Waste Management Authority has sealed off Quantum Packaging Nigeria Limited for alleged environmental violations.According to officials, the company was found engaging in illegal waste disposal and burning on its premises.
The activities were said to be in breach of state environmental laws.Authorities noted that the indiscriminate dumping and open burning of waste posed serious risks to both the environment and public health.
Residents living around the facility had also raised concerns about air pollution and smoke in the area.The agency said the company failed to comply with proper waste management procedures despite previous warnings. As a result, enforcement officers moved in to shut down operations until corrective measures are put in place.
The Ogun State government reiterated its commitment to enforcing environmental regulations. Officials warned other companies to adhere to waste disposal standards or face similar sanctions.
