Accord Stretches Lead to 67,389 Votes Over APC as Osun Awaits Final LGA Collation

Accord Party has opened a commanding lead in the Osun governorship election with results from 29 of the 30 local government areas now fully collated.According to figures released by INEC and compiled by _TheCableIndex_, Accord has amassed 487,553 votes so far. The APC follows with 420,164 votes. That puts Accord 67,389 votes ahead heading into the final declaration.

The ADC sits in third place with 16,525 votes. While the party has not been a major factor in the top-two race, its numbers reflect a slice of voters looking beyond the two leading parties.Tension is high at the INEC collation center in Osogbo as officials prepare to receive and verify results from the last outstanding LGA.

Party agents, observers, and supporters are on ground, with security presence also beefed up around the venue. For Accord to be declared winner, it will need to maintain its advantage after the last LGA is added.

The APC, on the other hand, would require an extraordinary performance in that final council to overturn a deficit of over 67,000 votes. INEC has said the concluding result will be announced once due process is completed. Until then, Accord holds the lead and is one LGA away from potentially clinching the governorship.
