Texas Man Sentenced to 45 Years for Months-Long LEGO and Retail Theft Spree

A 28-year-old man from Texas has been handed a 45-year prison term after a jury found him guilty of a prolonged retail theft operation across North Texas and Oklahoma.

Winston Love received the sentence in June 2026 from a court in Tarrant County. In addition to the prison term, he was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.Court records show that over a period of about 50 days, Love was linked to the theft of more than 200 LEGO sets.

The haul also included household electronics such as coffee makers, vacuum cleaners, and PlayStation controllers.Prosecutors estimated the total value of the stolen goods to be between $30,000 and $37,000.

The items were reportedly taken from multiple stores in different cities before authorities tracked and arrested the suspect. The case drew attention because of the unusual mix of items and the length of the sentence. Officials said the punishment reflects Texas’ habitual offender laws, which allow for enhanced penalties when a person has prior convictions.
