Indian authorities have arrested four Nigerian nationals in separate anti-narcotics raids carried out across different locations.
The operations were part of an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking networks operating in the country.According to officials, the arrests were made after weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering. One of the suspects sustained injuries while trying to flee from law enforcement during the operation. He was later taken into custody and received medical attention.
The individuals are alleged to be linked to the distribution and sale of illegal substances within Indian cities. Police say the suspects were found in possession of narcotics, and investigations are ongoing to determine the scale of their network and possible accomplices.
Authorities noted that the crackdown reflects India’s renewed push to curb cross-border drug trade. Security agencies have increased monitoring at airports, border points, and known hotspots linked to narcotics movement.
The arrested Nigerians are currently in detention as investigations continue. Indian officials have assured that due legal process will be followed, while diplomatic channels have been notified in line with standard procedure.
