FG Rolls Out Digital Platform to Automate Postings, Promotions, and Leave for Civil Servants

The Federal Government has moved to digitize human resource operations across its ministries and agencies, ending decades of manual processing.

A new centralized digital platform was launched to handle staff postings, promotions, and leave applications. Government officials say the system is designed to make HR processes faster, more transparent, and less prone to bottlenecks.

According to the FG, the platform will replace paper-based files and physical approval chains that often caused delays. Civil servants can now submit requests online, track the status of their applications, and receive approvals without moving from one office to another.Authorities noted that automating these functions will also improve record keeping and reduce opportunities for irregularities.

With all staff data stored in one system, postings and promotions are expected to be based on clear criteria and timelines. The government described the reform as part of broader efforts to modernize public service delivery. Training for HR officers has begun, and all MDAs have been directed to migrate fully to the new system in the coming months.
