U.S.-Based Pastor Embezzles $340,000 From Two Churches to Finance Gambling Habit

A pastor based in the United States has been accused of misappropriating $340,000 from two separate congregations to sustain a gambling lifestyle. According to reports, the clergyman diverted funds that were meant for church operations and ministry programs over a period of time.

Authorities allege that instead of using the money for its intended purpose, he channeled it into betting and other gambling activities. The case came to light after financial discrepancies were discovered during routine audits at both churches. Church leaders said they noticed unexplained withdrawals and missing funds, which prompted an internal review and eventual involvement of law enforcement.

Investigators claim the pastor had access to church accounts and used that position to move money without authorization. Court documents allege that a significant portion of the stolen funds was lost to gambling, leaving the congregations to deal with financial shortfalls.

The pastor now faces criminal charges related to theft and fraud. Both churches say they are working to recover the funds and have put new financial oversight measures in place to prevent a similar incident in the future.
