The Nigerian Army has graduated a new cohort of 27 drone pilots in Kaduna as part of efforts to strengthen intelligence gathering and improve operational effectiveness.
The training program is aimed at enhancing the military’s surveillance capabilities in the North West region.
The newly qualified pilots will be deployed to support ongoing security operations, providing real-time aerial reconnaissance and data to inform tactical decisions.
Army officials noted that the integration of unmanned aerial systems is critical for tracking threats, securing territories, and reducing risks to personnel on the ground.
This initiative reflects the Army’s broader commitment to modernizing its approach to internal security challenges.
By leveraging drone technology, the force intends to achieve greater precision, responsiveness, and situational awareness in its counterinsurgency and stabilization efforts.
