PDP Factional Chair Turaki Arraigned, Granted N100m Bail Over Police Petition

Tanimu Turaki, a factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, was arraigned on Wednesday before a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama.

The charge stems from allegations that he supplied false information to law enforcement authorities.Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, entered a not guilty plea when the charge was read in court.

The Inspector-General of Police is prosecuting the case, which centers on a petition Turaki reportedly submitted on 5 October 2022.

Prosecutors allege the petition targeted Saidi Mainasara and was intended to prompt police action against him.
