Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended a 15-year-old suspected logistics courier affiliated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ngamdu, Borno State.
The arrest, which occurred on Sunday, connects the teenager to recent insurgent activities and ongoing military operations targeting terrorist enclaves in the Jilli axis.
During interrogation, the suspect, identified as Tijjani, reportedly confessed to participating in attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu.
He further disclosed that he had been redeployed from Jilli the previous day with the sum of N850,000 to procure essential supplies and logistics for other ISWAP fighters operating along the Ngamdu–Benisheik corridor.
This development underscores the Nigerian military’s continued success in disrupting ISWAP’s supply networks and support systems in the northeast.
The suspect’s revelations provide valuable intelligence on insurgent movements originating from Jilli, a known hideout in Gubio Local Government Area, amid intensified counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
