Federal Government Releases Updated List of 48 Individuals and Entities Designated as Terrorism Financiers

The Federal Government of Nigeria has published a list comprising 48 individuals and entities suspected of involvement in terrorism financing.

This designation was issued by the Nigeria Sanctions Committee (NIGSAC) on Saturday, reflecting a targeted approach to disrupt financial support for extremist activities within the country.

The initiative forms part of broader national strategies aimed at identifying and monitoring persons and organisations believed to facilitate terrorism-related operations.

By imposing sanctions, the authorities seek to freeze assets, restrict travel, and prevent further support for proscribed groups, including those linked to organisations such as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ansarul Sudan (Ansaru), and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

This development underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing counter-terrorism measures and strengthening financial oversight in line with international obligations.

The full list is available through official channels, and stakeholders are encouraged to consult relevant regulatory bodies for detailed information and compliance requirements.
