Vice President Shettima Denounces Boko Haram as ‘Demented Monsters’ Following Deadly Attacks in Borno

Vice President Kashim Shettima has issued a scathing condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Borno State, expressing profound grief over the tragic loss of civilian lives at the hands of Boko Haram insurgents.

He stressed that no religion or belief system anywhere in the world condones or excuses the deliberate killing of innocent people, describing the violence as a profound betrayal of all humanitarian values amid Nigeria’s prolonged struggle against insurgency in the North-East.

In particularly strong language, the Vice President labeled Boko Haram members as “demented monsters” who have stripped themselves of any semblance of humanity through their relentless brutality.

He asserted that such perpetrators no longer deserve recognition as part of the human family, given their calculated targeting of vulnerable communities and disregard for basic decency.

These remarks follow a renewed surge in attacks across the region, highlighting the persistent security threats despite sustained military operations.

Vice President Shettima’s forceful statement underscores the administration’s deepening frustration and determination to confront the ongoing insurgency decisively.
