The escalating incidence of drug misuse among young people has become a pressing public‑health concern, demanding immediate attention and decisive action from both authorities and communities.
In a coordinated crackdown, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, known on social media as @Princemoye1, directed a raid on a clandestine drug network operating in Agbor. The operation resulted in the apprehension of more than one hundred individuals, all of whom were youths, and the confiscation of substantial quantities of illegal substances.
While the arrests represent a significant breakthrough, it is essential for the public to remain composed and supportive of ongoing law‑enforcement efforts.
A measured response, coupled with sustained preventive and rehabilitative programmes, will be crucial in curbing this menace and guiding affected youths toward a healthier future.
