An 18-year-old resident of Bazza community in Michika Local Government Area, Adamawa State, has admitted to stealing soft drinks as a means to celebrate his birthday with friends.Aminu Abdulazeez reportedly took half-crates of Nutri Milk and Dudu mineral drinks from a local shop.
He explained that the theft was intended to provide refreshments for the small gathering he had planned to mark the occasion.
Local authorities confirmed the confession, noting that the incident highlights the pressures some young people face when lacking resources for personal milestones.
The case is under review, with community leaders also engaging the family to address underlying issues.
