Police in Ondo State have taken into custody a suspect identified as Godspower Cletus, who is alleged to have been involved in a kidnapping incident.
The arrest was made after Cletus was observed attempting to withdraw one million naira that had reportedly been extorted as ransom from the husband of the victim.
According to the findings, Cletus allegedly entered the home of Mrs Farimoyo Endurance in the Odudu community of Akure.
During the intrusion, he is said to have threatened the occupant with a firearm and taken possession of her Android mobile phone and ATM card.
The incident has prompted further investigation by local law‑enforcement agencies, which are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the robbery and the subsequent ransom demand.
