Arsenal have secured deals to sign 16-year-old Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle. The highly rated youngsters, both current members of Ecuador’s Under-17 national team, will officially move to north London in August 2027 upon turning 18, in full compliance with FIFA rules governing the international transfer of minors.
Edwin, a left-footed right winger, has earned comparisons to a teenage Neymar in Ecuador thanks to his explosive speed, close-control dribbling and flair.
His twin brother Holger, who favours his right foot, plays as an attacking midfielder and stands out for his vision, creativity and ability to unlock defences with incisive passes and quick combinations in the final third.
The double acquisition aligns with Arsenal’s continued emphasis on building one of European football’s most promising youth academies, a strategy that has recently delivered first-team opportunities for talents including Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman.
Until the transfer window opens for them in 2027, both brothers will remain at Independiente del Valle to further their development.
Finalisation of the moves is subject to FIFA clearance and the securing of relevant UK work permits and visas. When completed, the Quintero twins will join a growing list of South American prospects at Hale End, adding to Arsenal’s emerging Ecuadorian contingent alongside established names such as Piero Hincapié and Moisés Caicedo.
