ADC Unveils New National Headquarters in Abuja as Party Prepares for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) marked a milestone on Monday, 17 November, when its national chairman and former Senate president, David Mark, inaugurated the party’s new headquarters in Abuja’s Wuse II district.

The four‑story building, previously used as the campaign office of former Vice‑President Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election, was taken over after Atiku’s lease expired, and the ADC has now assumed the rental agreement.

In his address, Mark described the opening as a “defining moment” and a “bold statement of purpose,” saying the complex will serve as the central hub for strategy, policy formulation, and leadership development as the party prepares for the 2027 polls.

Mark urged members to embody the principles of character, courage, competence, discipline, and integrity, stressing that the ADC emerged as a “historic child of necessity” in response to the public’s demand for improved governance. He highlighted that the secretariat will become the operational core for the party’s activities, helping to shape its agenda and train future leaders.

The inauguration was attended by several prominent party figures, including former governors Nasir El‑Rufai, Rauf Aregbesola, Rotimi Amaechi, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babachir Lawal.

Notably, key opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party leader Peter Obi were absent from the ceremony, despite both having been associated with the ADC’s broader opposition coalition.

Their absence underscored the party’s focus on consolidating its own structures ahead of the upcoming elections, while the ADC looks to leverage its new facility to strengthen its presence across Nigeria.
