Boyfriend Accuses Girlfriend of intentionally Crash after consciousness

A tragic incident has unfolded in Florida, where a 22-year-old man, Daniel Waterman, woke up from a months long coma to accuse his pregnant girlfriend, Leigha Mumby, of intentionally crashing their car.

The accident occurred in February 2025, leaving Waterman critically injured and Mumby with minor injuries. Waterman’s statement, made while he was still recovering, became crucial evidence in the case, leading to charges against Mumby.

According to police reports, the altercation began after Mumby discovered she was pregnant and allegedly found a message from another woman on Waterman’s phone. The argument escalated, and Mumby reportedly lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a tree. Waterman’s injuries were severe, and he remained in a coma for several months before briefly regaining consciousness.

Mumby was initially charged with aggravated battery and reckless driving, but those charges have been upgraded to vehicular homicide following Waterman’s death on October 8, 2025. The investigation is ongoing, and prosecutors are reviewing evidence to determine whether additional charges will be filed.

This heartbreaking case highlights the devastating consequences of road rage and the importance of seeking help during moments of crisis. As the case proceeds, the community will be watching closely to see justice served.
