NDLEA Uncovers Tanker Used for transporting Illicit Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a significant bust, uncovering a hidden storage compartment in a fuel tanker designed to transport illicit drugs across Nigeria. The discovery was made during a targeted stop-and-search operation, where officers found a covert storage space expertly crafted in the tanker’s belly.

According to NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the tanker was modified to conceal drugs, with the hidden compartment created solely for drug trafficking purposes. Babafemi shared a revealing post on (link unavailable), saying, “Narco-trend: Fuel tanker on top but drug tanker beneath!”

This interception highlights the agency’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and smuggling in Nigeria. The NDLEA continues to innovate and stay vigilant in their pursuit of suspects and illicit substances.

The successful operation demonstrates the importance of targeted enforcement actions in disrupting drug trafficking networks and preventing the spread of illicit substances across the country.
