President Tinubu’s administration has reportedly started paying the increased allowance of N77,000 to serving National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members. This development comes after the Federal Government approved the increment of Corps Members’ monthly allowance from N33,000 to N77,000, effective from July 2024, in line with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024 .
The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, confirmed that all Corps Members would receive the new monthly allowance of N77,000, starting from March 2025.
He emphasized that the Scheme and Federal Government prioritize the welfare of Corps Members. This increase is a significant improvement in the livelihood of NYSC members, and it’s expected to boost their morale and motivation during their service year.
