The Rivers State Government has issued a public announcement to address the misleading reports circulating on social media. These reports falsely claim that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is seeking asylum at the Bayelsa State Government House due to fear of attack or arrest.
The government has categorically stated that these reports are false and should be disregarded. They believe that these reports are the work of detractors who are bent on spreading misinformation. It’s essential to rely only on verified sources for accurate information to avoid spreading false news.
The announcement also mentioned that photos suggesting the governor’s presence at the PDP Governor’s Forum meeting in Asaba, Delta State, are also misleading. The government urges the public to be cautious of such reports and to verify information before sharing it.
The Rivers State Government reassures the public that they will continue to provide accurate and reliable information through official channels. The announcement was signed by Seigha Edwin Adedeji, the Special Assistant on Social/New Media to the Governor.
