The Kogi State Police Command has announced that its operatives foiled an attempted abduction of passengers along Ayere Road on Friday, March 14, 2025.
The police received a distress call that armed hoodlums had blocked the road and were attempting to abduct passengers from a vehicle. The police promptly mobilized reinforcement teams from Sharper Corner pindown, who engaged the hoodlums.
The superior firepower of the police caused the hoodlums to flee into the bush, abandoning their victims, who were then rescued by the police.The Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has ordered a thorough search of the surrounding bushes to apprehend the hoodlums and bring them to justice.
The police commissioner commended the dedication of the police team involved in the operation and assured the public that the police will continue to fight against criminality in the state.
