Governor Soludo Bans Loud Preaching in Public Places

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has banned loud preaching in public places, including markets, and imposed a fine of N500,000 on offenders. This move aims to reduce noise pollution and maintain peace in the state.

Soludo emphasized that while everyone has the right to practice their religion, they cannot disturb others in the process. He encouraged preachers to take their activities to churches and mosques, where people can choose to attend and listen.

The governor’s decision has sparked mixed reactions, with some supporting the ban as a necessary measure to maintain public order, while others see it as an infringement on their right to freedom of worship.
