Armed Bandit kill two Kidnap 10 in Niger State

Tragedy has struck in Niger State, Nigeria, where armed bandits have killed at least two people and kidnapped no fewer than ten others in Wushishi and Rafi Local Government Areas. The victims include a local vigilante and a logger, according to a security operative who spoke anonymously to Daily Trust.

This incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks by bandits in Nigeria’s northwestern states. The Nigerian government has been struggling to contain the violence, which has led to numerous deaths, kidnappings, and displacement of people.

In a similar incident in 2022, over 200 people were killed by bandits in Zamfara State, Nigeria, in a series of massacres. The Nigerian government has launched security operations to combat the bandits, but the violence continues to escalate.

The situation in Niger State and other affected areas remains dire, with many communities living in fear of bandit attacks. The government’s efforts to address the crisis have been criticized by some, who argue that more needs to be done to protect vulnerable communities.
