The Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to combat crime in the state. The corps has announced the arrest of 18 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers along the Benin-Auchi Road.
According to the corps commandant, Friday Ibadin, a retired Commissioner of Police, the arrests were made during a bush-combing operation near the Eguedion Camp. The operation resulted in the recovery of:
- 38 locally-made guns
- Pellets
- Several charms
Notably, 17 of the suspects are non-indigenes, while one is a local from the Agbede community. The ESSC’s efforts demonstrate the state government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
