Sex Traffickers Busted in Ogun State

A shocking sex trafficking ring was busted by Amotekun in Ogun state, revealing the horrific exploitation of underage girls. A 14-year-old JSS3 student confessed to being forced into prostitution, sleeping with 12 to 20 men daily for a meager ₦1,000.

The victim, lured from Akwa Ibom with promises of a sales job, was drugged and coerced into sex slavery by her madam, Mrs. Edem Joy.

The trafficking ring, led by Mrs. Edem Joy and her alleged boss, 60-year-old Mrs. Okutoro Yemisi, preyed on vulnerable girls from Akwa Ibom, Calabar, and Delta State. The perpetrators used manipulative tactics, including swearing oaths with blood, hair, or the Bible, to ensure the girls’ silence and compliance.

This disturbing case highlights the need for increased vigilance and protection for young girls against exploitation. The incident also sparks reflection on societal attitudes toward gender and safety.

Some individuals mistakenly believe that girls are safer in women’s care than in men’s. However, this case demonstrates that evil can take many forms, regardless of gender. It is essential for parents, particularly fathers, to be more discerning and protective of their children, rather than blindly trusting others with their care.
