Abia State Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa has taken decisive action against three officers for discreditable conduct, including conspiracy, abduction, and extortion of their victims. The dismissed officers are Sergeant Jonas Nnamdi, Corporal James Daniel, and Corporal Ifeanyi Emeka, who were attached to different units within the Abia State Police Command.
These officers have been stripped of their positions, effective February 7, 2025, and will face prosecution at the State Criminal Investigation Department, along with their civilian accomplices. This move demonstrates the Commissioner’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the police force and ensuring that officers who engage in unprofessional conduct are held accountable.
In fact, the Abia State Police Command has been taking strong measures to address misconduct within its ranks. Just recently, the Command disbanded its Anti-Cultism Unit due to unprofessional conduct and incivility towards the public.
Additionally, a policeman, Okonkwo Ebuka, was demoted from corporal to constable for misconduct. These actions reflect the Command’s zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional behavior and its dedication to maintaining a reputable and trustworthy police force.
