Aisha Wakil “Mama Boko-Haram, Others Handed Five Years Imprisonment

Aisha Alkali Wakil, notoriously known as “Mama Boko Haram,” has been handed a five-year prison sentence for her involvement in a multimillion-naira scam. Wakil, who serves as the CEO of Complete Care and Aid Foundation, was found guilty of deceiving a businessman into surrendering a Toyota Camry 2012 model valued at N6 million under the pretext of fulfilling a contractual agreement. Two of her accomplices, Tahiru Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyode, received identical five-year prison sentences.

The guilty verdict was reached following a thorough examination of a four-count amended charge that included accusations of cheating, conspiracy, and providing false information. The prosecution presented a robust case, calling upon three witnesses and submitting numerous documents as evidence to substantiate the allegations against the defendants. As part of the ruling, the defendants were ordered to jointly reimburse the petitioner for the outstanding balance of N3.5 million or face an additional five-year prison term. This conviction marks the latest in a series of legal troubles for Wakil, who has previously been found guilty of a separate N34 million fraud scheme.
