House of Representative Member seeks Police Intervention on Impersonation grounds

Honorable Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, a member of the House of Representatives, has sought police intervention to address the alleged impersonation by his former aide, Ajayi Samuel Crowther. According to Onuakalusi, Crowther forged his signature and letterhead, committing a serious breach of the law. The lawmaker, who represents Oshodi/Isolo II Federal Constituency, Lagos, has petitioned the police to investigate Crowther’s actions and bring him to justice

The alleged impersonation was discovered when the Embassy of the Republic of Taiwan contacted Onuakalusi to verify a letter purportedly written by him, nominating Crowther for a training program in Taiwan. Onuakalusi was shocked and outraged, as he had never written or signed such a letter. He accused Crowther of cleverly and criminally forging his letterhead, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the law.

Onuakalusi’s petition urges the police to invite Crowther for interrogation and investigate whether he has written similar letters to other agencies in Nigeria or internationally. The lawmaker seeks to hold Crowther accountable for his actions and ensure that he faces the consequences of his crimes. The police have been called upon to treat the matter with the seriousness it deserves and conduct a thorough investigation.
