Edo State’s newly sworn-in Governor, Monday Okpebholo, made significant moves within his first 24 hours in office. He dissolved the executive boards of all state agencies, effective immediately, and relieved permanent secretaries and political appointees of their duties. Affected appointees must hand over government properties to senior officers.Okpebholo in same line of action suspended revenue collection statewide, particularly in motor parks, until further review furthermore defaulters of this order be arrested , as instructed to the state Commissioner of Police.
During an inspection tour, the governor vowed to restore Edo people’s hope, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope plan.Okpebholo assured residents of swift action, prioritizing road construction and repair. Contractors have been ordered back to sites to address critical areas, including Temboga Road, Lucky Way Junction, and Ramat Park/Slope Axis. Edo people can expect tangible improvements, fulfilling campaign promises to deliver democracy in it’s unadulterated form.
