A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters stormed the Department of State Services (DSS) Headquarters in Abuja, demanding an investigation into Defence Minister Bello Matawalle’s alleged ties to bandits. The APC Akida Forum expressed concerns over Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal’s accusations against Matawalle.
Governor Lawal’s allegations, made on national television, highlighted inherited issues upon taking office. These include Matawalle’s purported sponsorship of bandits and misappropriation of state funds. APC Akida Forum Chairman Musa Mahmud emphasized the gravity of these concerns.
The protesters urged the DSS to probe Matawalle’s involvement, citing implications for governance, security, and the welfare of Zamfara’s people. The APC Akida Forum seeks transparency and accountability, pressing for a thorough investigation into these severe allegations.
