News making round on Friday evening is that the Ododo led government has submitted a request to upgrade the Zariagi airstrip to an international airport. A group of technical team had visited the site for the proposed airport on 11th – 12th September 2024 and the approval has been approved by the honorable minister of Aviation and aerospace development.
In a letter from the government it was mentioned that the approval is subjected to some specific conditions such as the provision of Airport Master plans and Airport soil report, payment of all statutory fees among others.
If this pulls through, it will be a thing of Joy and would be considered the next best thing to happen in the state after civil servants are among the few who have started receiving the newly reviewed minimum wage.
