FG Facilitates Free Healthcare in 154 Hospital for Women with Obstetric Complications

In a significant effort to improve maternal healthcare, the Federal Government has designated 154 health facilities across Nigeria to provide free treatment for women with obstetric complications. This initiative aims to address the health challenges that women may face during pregnancy, labour, delivery, or the postpartum period, which can have a profound impact on the well-being of both mother and baby.

These 154 health facilities will offer comprehensive emergency care to women experiencing obstetric complications, ensuring that they receive the necessary medical attention to prevent long-term health consequences or even death. By providing free treatment, the government hopes to reduce the financial burden on families and encourage more women to seek medical help when needed.

The government’s initiative is a crucial step towards improving maternal healthcare in Nigeria, where women often face significant barriers in accessing quality healthcare services. By expanding access to emergency obstetric care, the government aims to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, promoting a healthier and more equitable society for all.
