The Ghana Premier League club Berekum Chelsea has announced the tragic passing of 20-year-old winger Dominic Frimpong.
The young footballer sadly lost his life after sustaining gunshot wounds during an armed attack on the team’s bus.The incident occurred on Sunday evening as the squad was returning from an away Ghana Premier League match against Samartex in Samreboi.
According to the club, masked armed men blocked the road and opened fire on the bus as the driver attempted to reverse to safety. Players and staff fled into nearby bushes for cover, but Frimpong was struck and later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.
